Not really surprised, I know someone who drove to Townsville last week to secure two kids bikes.Well I can knock these on the head unless someone is driving from Brisbane to Cairns in July?
99bikes won't let a courier pick up due to manufacturer shipping restrictions.
It's almost worth paying the Cairns tax to buy retail. Not really surprised, I know someone who drove to Townsville last week to secure two kids bikes.
You'd be surprised how good the second hand market is for quality used Kids bikes. It must be hard building quality bikes for children as the long term ownership outlook isn't good, most children aren't into the sport so numbers are much smaller.
I'm also looking at a bike for my 7 year old daughter who's currently riding a 20" wheel Trek Precaliber. You'd be surprised how good the second hand market is for quality used Kids bikes.
It came up a bit early sadly but the main issue is that my wife wants to buy new. She's perfectly fine letting me maintain them though..Can’t believe you didn’t buy that well spec’d small spitfire @HamboCairns

Ah interesting, so a decent set of tyres and their appendages is all the suspension she needs? There's a few manufacturers that do kids bikes with no suspension fork.
IMO there is no need for a useless 40mm of suspension fork on a kids bike weighing the front down with 3kg of unnecessary weight... yes seriously 3kg of shit-functioning fork.
My boys had Kona Shred 20" and they were solid little bikes ay 11kg, the fork was 3kg alone and it had no impact to ride quality at all.
Cannondale is one of them https://www.cannondale.com/en-au/bikes/kids/7-to-12#sort=@msrp descending
Finding stock is another thing
Just my opinion, if you ask my missus she would be saying they definitely needed the suspension fork.Ah interesting, so a decent set of tyres and their appendages is all the suspension she needs?
100%. Those SR suntour things are fkn awful and actually make the bike handle worseJust my opinion, if you ask my missus she would be saying they definitely needed the suspension fork.
The forks don't work well, at best they are a 40mm pogo stick. After a bit of use, they bind up and end up dead weight.
Not disc braked. V-brakes are a fucking pain in the arse to maintain and take the wheel on and off.100%. Those SR suntour things are fkn awful and actually make the bike handle worse
Polygon do one too - https://www.bicyclesonline.com.au/2021-polygon-premier-24-ultralight-kids-bike

The Cannondale looks perfect except the price which is a joke. There's a few manufacturers that do kids bikes with no suspension fork.
